VidMob Gives is part of a larger corporate pledge to address both structural inequalities and systemic racism. As a growing technology company, we recognize our tremendous responsibility to produce creative with meaningful impact. For VidMob, giving is not a mere footnote at the end of the year but it’s at the core of our corporate business model. Storytelling is an important tool in the movement of culture, and this is what VidMob Gives was created for. On Purpose is a celebration and explanation of how VidMob is built from purpose at our core.

It features one of our incredible non profit partners, Bethany’s Gait.

We sat down with them to ask what they've been up to.

Can you tell us a little about Bethany’s Gait?

Bethany’s Gait is a 501(c)3 non-profit ranch in Prescott, Arizona dedicated to “Rescuing Horses, Restoring Lives.” Our programs were created specifically for active duty, reserve and veteran military personnel, first responders, and their families. Our ranch is nestled in Williamson Valley with spectacular views of Granite Mountain and the surrounding area, providing for a peaceful, private environment. One of the things that makes our program unique is that we are also a horse rescue. We have found bringing the rescue horses together with the people offers a dynamic situation where horse and human heal through a bond that is developed based on unconditional love, unwavering trust and a keen understanding of what the other has been through.

Can you share how you came to know Burr, Alex and the VidMob family?

That's actually kind of a funny story. Burr reached out to me when they were looking for a local non-profit horse program to support as part of their participation in the Man vs. Horse race. He started by saying something like, "I promise I'm not some weirdo. We are truly legit." Meeting Burr, Alex and Scott stood true to that. They’re stand up guys, and donation aside, I'm blessed to have met them.

Can you describe the kind of work you do together?

This time around, we’re diving into content. VidMob Gives will be developing a video campaign to recruit ten horse care volunteers and five wrangler/mentor volunteers. The goal is to kick the campaign off in mid-May in order to secure these new volunteers by the start of summer.

Bethany's Gait runs on a pretty frugal budget with most of the staff being volunteer so $15,000 goes a long way. The grant from VidMob provided 43 heroes with an entire year of sessions with our rescue horses. This hero could be a veteran or first responder who is working to come out stronger on the other side of their struggle, a spouse who is doing their best to support their loved one but isn't quite sure how to do that, or a child who doesn't understand why their mother or father can't always give them what they need. VidMob made a huge impact for a good number of people who have devoted their lives to keep the rest of us safe and healthy.

What are your hopes as you look toward the next year?

We are looking to expand our program for veterans/first responders (Resilience Unleashed) as we've done with the wives' program (Lissa's Legacy). We want to give them a chance to share their skills with each other through workshops/classes, camp together, make a difference for others together (proven to really help with PTSD), and discover how resilient they truly are.
