VidMob Gives Doubles Fundraising Target to Benefit Refugees

The Challenge
The Solution
Working pro bono, VidMob Gives’ creator network edited and produced a captivating video that contrasted the stark conditions of the Moria camp with the comfort and joy its residents derive from the Yoga & Sport for Refugees program. By humanizing Europe’s refugee crisis, the creators drove genuine empathy among viewers. The video was viewed over 7,100 times on Facebook.
The Results
Yoga & Sport for Refugees’ engaging video helped the organization reach its $10,000 goal in the campaign’s first five days, well ahead of the two-week benchmark it had initially set. In the following six days, the organization would almost double its fundraising target by raising more than $19,000. The organization used the money to replace the canvas roof on its training tent, purchase new equipment and rent a permanent gym for its Muay Thai, kickboxing and boxing classes.
“Moria refugees are among the kindest, most loving people I’ve ever met. With the help of VidMob Gives, we were able to raise the money we needed to ensure that there will always be a spot on the track for everyone who wants to participate, and that no one will be left in the stands to watch from afar.”
— Burr Purnell, VidMob Director of VidMob Gives and former Yoga & Sport for Refugees volunteer coach
